Pride of Northumberland Safer Community award for their continued

Improving Croft and Cowpen Quay (ICCQ) Neighbourhood
Management in Blyth (a government-funded pathfinder whose
accountable body is Guinness Trust) won this prestigious award
after they were nominated by residents of the Croft ward Mary and
Peter Pringle for their innovative and creative approach to
partnership-working to tackle issues raised by the local
community.
The staff team Andrea Dobbing, Karen Hardy, Chris Byrne, Nikki
Crowley and Betty Weallans were delighted to have had their hard
work and commitment recognised.
Also shortlisted were Inspector Sue Peart for introducing
a variety of new community focused projects to improve crime in the
area and Brian Routledge crime and safety officer for the local
authority.
A bit more about ICCQ
ICCQ (improving Croft and Cowpen Quay) in Blyth is
a Neighbourhood Management, Government funded pathfinder whose
accountable body is the Guinness Trust. ICCQ works with local
people to improve life in our neighbourhood, particularly around
health, education, housing, crime and public spaces.
All of the ICCQ staff are employed by the Guinness Trust. ICCQ is
led by a partnership board made up of residents, community and
voluntary groups as well as organisations such as the Police,
Northumberland Care Trust and Northumberland County Council.
