City in Bloom Community Award – First Prize to Moyne Close and Laburnum Avenue

29 September 2008

Moyne Close came first in the Brighton and Hove City in Bloom and won first place in the prestigious Community Award. This is a new category and recognises not just the floral displays but also all that the community does throughout the year. The judges’ comment was that Moyne Close stood ‘head and shoulders’ above the other entrants in this category.

This is only the second year that we’ve been entered and praise goes to the Tenants and Residents association for their tireless work during the year, to Andy Seabrook the caretaker for all his hard work and to all the residents who have kept their gardens neat and tidy.

Pat Wilson, the chair of the association commented that he promised Simon Dow that he would deliver first prize this year and he has.

Pictured is Brian, the vice chair with the certificate and cup.
