Children enjoying the new facilities

Hermitage Housing has been working in partnership with the Barn Pre-School in Waterlooville to provide some valuable new facilities for the children there, all aged between two and four years.

Members of Hermitage's Community Investment team created a new area for a vegetable patch, where the children have learnt basic gardening skills. The team also provided a rainwater butt, a re-cycling area, some additional paving, and re-sited an existing shed.

"It was obvious to us all how much the children enjoyed being involved in this project," said Martyn Griffiths, Community Investment Manager with Hermitage. "These improvements will help the school meet its targets under the Government's Every Child Matters policy in relation to extended external play & learning. This project is yet another example of Hermitage Housing's commitment to actively working in local communities."
