Success for Partnership customers
14 December 2009
We are delighted to advise that two Partnership customers
have been successful in securing a place on the National Tenant
Council. The National Tenant Council, at the heart of the National
Tenant Voice, will consist of fifty tenants that will meet to
debate and discuss key housing policy issues. The National Tenant
Voice was developed after being made as a key recommendation of the
Cave Review.
The National Tenant Council will reflect the diversity of social
housing tenants. It will have on it tenants from local authorities,
housing associations, housing co-ops, tenants managed by Arms
Length Management Organisations and Tenant Management
Organisations, and leaseholders of social landlords.
Mike Dale from St Austell and Trevor Hankins from
London applied and went through the application process along with
1300 other tenants from right across the country. The application
process was stringent, with a telephone interview, group session
and final interview, so Mike and Trevor have done fantastically
well.
Having two Partnership tenants on this group is something to really
celebrate as it is hoped this group will have real influence. Its
main purpose is to discuss and advise the National Tenant Voice and
the government on housing policy issues - to ensure government and
others know tenants' views.
Please do let me know if there are any other customers that have
been successful, that might be hiding their light under a
bushel!
