Our Management Team

The Management team meets monthly to plan and coordinate activities and actions on company business and to monitor and manage performance. It also gives feedback to the Executive Team on Partnership matters and considers how best to implement agreed Partnership policies.

Paul Roberts

Title: Interim Managing Director

Company: Guinness Northern Counties

Since joining us in August 2009 as the Assistant Director of Finance, Paul has taken the lead in ensuring we remain a financially viable organisation. in 2010 he became the Director of Finance and, following Carol Matthews' departure in January 2012, is currently Interim Managing Director. Prior to joining us Paul had a varied career across the private and third sectors. Most recently he was Finance Director for a youth education company which provided him not only with exposure to the third sector, and charities in particular, but also valuable experience of the creation of a finance function from scratch. He has also worked in Finance and Information Technology at Kelloggs, a small/medium enterprise in the aerospace industry and British Gas.

Penny Bayley

Title: Director of Customer Services

Company: Guinness Northern Counties

Penny joined us in 2006 as Assistant Director of Customer Services, before becoming Director. She is responsible for the Customer Service Centre and our teams who deal with anti-social behaviour and arrears, as well as a number of internal teams. Penny's role is to help shape our services to our customers across both our company and the Partnership.

Title: Director of Neighbourhood Services

Company: Guinness Northern Counties

As Director of Neighbourhood Services, John is committed to the work we do in our neighbourhoods and to providing our customers with a home, environment and community of which we can all be proud. Since joining us in 1983 John has worked in a range of posts from housing assistant to Regional Housing Manager. In March 2004 he was appointed temporary Assistant Director of Housing Management Services (Operations) as we began implementing neighbourhood teams and our Customer Service Centre, and this post was confirmed in December 2005.

Andy Plant

Title: Director of Asset Management and City Response Limited

Company: Guinness Northern Counties

Andy has been Executive Director of City Response Limited since 2006, and in July 2010 took responsibility for the asset management team, who make sure our homes meet the Decent Homes Standard. During that time City Response has achieved the Investor in People Standard and more recently an Environmental Standard. Prior to that, Andy worked at Willow Park Housing Trust as Assistant Director of Building Services.

Allan Ramsay

Title: Director of Investment and Regeneration

Company: Guinness Northern Counties

Allan joined us in September 2008, and his role is to work with the Investment and Regeneration team to grow the development programme in building new, innovative and award-winning schemes. He previously worked for the Regenda Group as Director of Regeneration Projects where he was involved in a range of major regeneration initiatives across the North West, as well as having overall responsibility for asset management activity. He also had roles at North British Housing Association (now Places for People) and Hammersmith and Fulham Council in London.

Ian Warren

Title: HR Business Partner

Company: Guinness Northern Counties

Ian joined us in 2011 as HR Business Partner. He is responsible for providing HR and Corporate Support to the business, which includes the delivery of HR shared services, leading the access to work and equality and diversity programmes.
