The Board

Petter Cotton, Deputy Chair of the BoardPeter Cotton, Chair

Peter was appointed as the Chair of the Guinness Care Board in June 2011. He is also Deputy Chair of The Guinness Partnership Board and Chair of the Remuneration and Nominations Committee. Peter has worked in several industries including electronic publishing and railways, notably non executive director of Eurostar. He is also an Ambassador and volunteer for Florence Nightingale Hospice.

Nick was appointed to the Guinness Care Board in February 2018. Until November 2017, Nick was the Deputy CEO of Optivo, a large housing association, managing 44,000 homes across the Midlands and South-East. Nick, having worked as a Housing Association CEO, Property Director and Director of Care Services, is experienced in building and managing diverse teams, implementing performance and competency management systems and delivering cultural change.

Amanda was appointed to the Guinness Care Board in February 2018. She is the New Services Director for Care UK.  She is an experienced Director with an excellent track record of delivering transformational change and creative customer service solutions across a wide range of sectors.

 

Jim Dickson, Board MembersJim Dickson, Board Member

Jim was appointed to the Guinness Care Board in November 2015.  He was a Guinness Partnership Board member between 2007 and 2016.  Jim is Chair of The Devon Sheltered Homes Trust, a Charity for which Guinness Care is the Corporate Trustee.  He is also a Board member of the Wrekin Housing Group, as well as Chair of Choices Housing Association.

 

Claire Feehily, GCS Board MemberDr Claire Feehily, Board Member

Claire was appointed to the Guinness Care Board in October 2009. A former accountant and senior social care manager in local government, Claire has worked in four London boroughs and at Essex County Council. In 2001, she moved into part-time social care and financial consultancy, postgraduate academic studies and teaching. She completed her masters in 2002 and her doctorate was awarded in 2009. She advises other organisations on financial and strategic management dimensions.

Shena Winning - March 2018Shena Winning, Board Member

Shena was appointed to the Guinness Care Board in February 2018. She is an experienced Board member, Chair – Exec and Non-Exec. Shena is the former Chair of Medway NHS Trust and has held several other non-Executive directorships. She is a Finance professional with a passion for organisational performance and growth.

 

Chris Wilson smallChris Wilson, Board Member

Chris was appointed to the Guinness Care Board in March 2018. He is a retired professional services partner with KPMG with extensive audit and advisory experience in the public sector, ranging from local/central government to housing, education and health. Chris is a Board member and Chair of the Audit and Assurance Committee for Curo Housing Association and Board and Audit and Risk Committee member of White Horse Housing Association.

Linda Sanders, GCS Board MemberLinda Sanders, Board Member

Linda was appointed to the Guinness Care Board in December 2014. She was a Local Authority Corporate Director in the West Midlands and London for 15 years holding Statutory Adults, Children’s Social Care and Housing responsibilities. Formerly, the ADASS Vice President and was Co-chair of the ADASS disability network, Linda is currently an ADASS associate. Linda has undertaken consultancy for Coventry City Council where she chaired the Better Care Programme Board and led the creation of an all age disability service.

Mike Petter, Board MemberMike Petter, Board Member

Mike was appointed to the Guinness Care Board in November 2014. He is also a member of The Guinness Partnership Board, the Group Audit and Risk Committee, the Remuneration and Nominations Committee and Chair of the Guinness Health and Safety Committee. He is a Chartered Engineer who spent 25 years in the construction industry before setting up his own consultancy delivering business improvement support to a broad range of clients.

Catriona Simmons, Chief ExecutiveCatriona Simons

Catriona is the Chief Executive of The Guinness Partnership Limited and an executive Board Member. She is also a Board Member for Guinness Homes Limited, The Guinness Housing Association Limited, City Response Limited and Guinness Developments Limited.

Paul joined Guinness Care and Support Limited in December 2007. He is a member of the Homes and Communities Agency Advisory Group on Older and Vulnerable People, and was Group Director of Hanover Housing Association. Between 2003 and 2005 he advised the Department of Health on policies for older people and people with learning disabilities. He received an MBE for his work as Chief Executive of a homelessness organisation.

Paul joined Guinness Care and Support Limited in December 2007. Ann SkipperAnn Skipper, People and Quality Director

Ann joined Guinness Care in July 2013, having previously worked in financial services and the Environment Agency.  She has responsibility for HR, learning and development, health and safety, staff communications and quality and assurance.

Lynn Lewis, GCS Interim Director of Community ServicesLynn Lewis, Director of Independent Living

Lynn is Director of Independent Living and has overall operational responsibility for housing for older people, extra care housing, supported living services, our care homes and the Sheffield Foyer.

Vicky Horsley is our Care at Home Director. Vicky has overall operational responsibility for our care at home services.
