What is Quayside?

Quayside offers a beautiful place to live overlooking the River Dart. With 30 apartments for affordable rent to those already living in the area, and a further 30 available through shared ownership, Quayside offers a great opportunity for both those in the local community and those looking to start a new home in the beautiful Devon countryside. Built and decorated using dementia-friendly design features, Quayside’s facilities include spa assisted bathrooms, landscaped communal gardens, a bistro and a hairdressing salon; both of which are also open to the public.

There is a 24/7 staff presence comprising of a Registered Manager, a Concierge and care staff. The Peace of Mind wellbeing service ensures that there is always someone on site to provide personal care day and night, as well as facilitate a range of daytime services, activities and events.

What’s great about Quayside?

We’re helping to build a community within Quayside through an inclusive social activities programme, and helping residents connect with each other using an innovative in-room video calling system. At the touch of a button residents can speak to family and friends – as well as each other – putting connectivity and community at the heart of life at Quayside.

This technology also allows residents to see visitors before opening their front door, as well as connecting them to onsite staff in the event of an emergency, assuring residents’ security and safety while maintaining their independence.

Extra Care

4Z1A7685Quayside’s ‘Extra Care’ service helps residents to maintain their independence in their homes with the knowledge that there are trained staff available onsite 24 hours a day.

Our trained teams understand the support needs of everyone are different, which is why at Quayside they work with each resident to build a care and support plan that provides the right level of support while still helping to maintain their independence and freedom.

The rents are set at 80% of the market rent and will be reviewed at each letting.

Property rent will be £160.98 per week for a one bed apartment and £181.08 per week for a two bed apartment. This is eligible for housing benefit subsidy if the customer is eligible.

In addition there will be a service charge of approximately £48 per week for communal utilities and other building related costs. Some of this is eligible for housing benefit subsidy if the customer is eligible and some the customer will pay for.

There will also be a Wellbeing charge of £32 per week. This will provide the 24/7 staff presence. Some of this cost will be eligible for housing benefit support and some of the costs will be paid for by the customer.

Local connection

In order to be considered for a property at Quayside, you’ll need to have a local connection to the South Hams District or Devon (in that order). This means you must have been/are a resident in these areas, have a family connection or work in the area.

Please note: Care requirements will be one of the considerations we make when allocating an apartment. Home care will be commissioned on an individual basis with either the local authority or the customer paying for their care.
