Jane used her Aspire Award funding to complete Swim Aquatics and Lifeguarding courses.
Turning her life around
Due to suffering from Crohns & Colitis, Jane struggled over the years with the emotional and physical sides to the illness which also meant she lost her job. However, she took part in a charity swim challenge which built up her confidence, fitness and self purpose. So much so that she was motivated to use this experience to inspire others.
Becoming a fully qualified teacher
Jane applied for Aspire Award funding to complete ASA level 2 in Swim Aquatics with an NPLQ in Lifeguarding. Using the skills and experience she gained on these courses, she’s now a fully qualified swimming teacher in Essex.
“Aspire Awards has definitely made a difference to me because without that funding, I wouldn’t have achieved what I have achieved in such as short space of time. So I wouldn’t be where I am now if it wasn’t for their support.”
