Celebrating National
Apprenticeship Week 2018

06 March 2018

This week is the 11th annual National Apprenticeship Week - a celebration of apprenticeships and the positive impact they have on businesses and the economy.

Apprenticeships at GuinnessApprentice electrician, Liam

We currently support and train over 50 apprentices at Guinness; they range in age from 16 to 39 and from trade apprentices in Guinness Property to business administration apprentices in our offices. 7 out of 10 of these apprentices go onto full-time employment at Guinness.

Apprenticeships are not only a fantastic gateway to a new career, but they also benefit the business by bringing new skills, dedication and fresh perspectives to our teams.

How we’re celebrating this week

This week, we are sharing stories of our apprentices on our Facebook and Twitter pages. We’ll be talking about how they started, the work they’re doing and where they hope their apprenticeships will take them.

As part of our celebrations for National Apprenticeship Week, we’ll be hosting and attending career events which encourage students and customers alike to apply to join our apprenticeship programmes. We will be joined by ex-apprentices who have now become full time employees here at Guinness.
