Your Tenancy Agreement explains what we will repair and what you are responsible for.
In general terms, we are responsible for:
- The structure and the outside of your home
- The communal areas
- The fixtures and fittings that we have provided
Your responsibilities include:
- Internal decoration
- Repairs that would reasonably be covered by insurance
- Filling small cracks in plaster
- Plugs, fuses, light bulbs, light pull cords, doorbells
- Maintaining your own fittings and appliances
- Plumbing in your washing machine or dishwasher
- TV aerials and satellite dishes
- Locks and other security devices, including when you are locked out
- Broken windows, unless the result of criminal damage
- Blocked toilets, sinks, basins, baths or showers
- Toilet seats
- Dripping taps
- Bleeding radiators
Site based staffÂ
If you live on a scheme you may have a member of staff who lives and works there. They provide maintenance service by:
- Taking reports of repair problems from you
- Inspecting the problem
- In some cases, carrying out minor repairs
- Reporting large maintenance issues to the local office
- Checking the standard of workmanship and general behaviour of contractors on site
