Governance
The Board
The Board is the Partnership's governing body. It is made up of
the Chairman, Peter Barton and members who have the appropriate
skills and experience for an organisation that has a £170m
turnover. The Marchioness of Douro is now the President of The
Guinness Partnership.
The Board sets the strategic direction for the Partnership and is
responsible for overall performance. It is responsible for taking
key decisions regarding the Partnership's structure, objectives and
financial management. There are a number of sub committees:
The Group Audit and Risk Committee
Reports to The Partnership Board on the effectiveness of
our internal controls, financial reporting and business
planning.
The Governance Committee
Recommends to The Partnership Board on all issues relating
to all Board Members including skills and experience required and
appointment of members to partner boards. It also agrees the terms
and conditions of the Partnership Chief Executive and members of
the Executive Team.
We also have a Project Review Group which
is not a sub-committee of The Partnership Board but has an
important role in reviewing in detail non-standard projects across
the Partnership and deciding which should go forward for Board
approval.
