“I had no idea how to start a business but when I received the leaflet, I thought what do I have to lose?”

A couple of years ago, Natasha wanted to own a business but had no idea what in. Around the same time, she started making chocolates. She shared them amongst her children and work colleagues, and they loved them.

“The amount of positive feedback I received was overwhelming, saying: ‘You should start a business’. However, working full time, a part-time student, and a single parent of two children, I couldn’t foresee having a business as well. There was just no time. Then COVID-19 came. Then lockdown. This was a perfect time for me to start something.”

Natasha received a leaflet along with her post and normally, leaflets go straight in the bin but this one was about a business school and she saw the word FREE. “At first, I thought, I can’t do this, I work full time. I had no idea how to start a business but when I received the leaflet, I thought what do I have to lose?”

Her aim is to make chocolate accessible to ALL, no matter your dietary requirements or food allergies; vegan, diabetic, low-calorie, nut-free, dairy-free, whatever your needs, Natasha wants to create luxurious chocolate for all chocolate lovers to love. She wants people to indulge in the Coco Delights Experience.

“The great thing about the timing of this course was the fact that, if we weren’t in a pandemic, I wouldn’t have been able to attend as I work full-time. Attending a workshop would mean that I would have had to take annual leave which I didn’t have as I book my annual leave around my school holidays. This was a perfect opportunity for me to find out what it takes to start a business. An opportunity to ask questions, to learn, in a safe space.

“Going on the course gave me the confidence to make things happen. If I didn’t attend, I don’t believe I would have got as far as I have and given me the leverage to take it the next level for 2021. You may not get this kind of opportunity anywhere else, not for free anyway!”
