Tomasz is a housing officer in Milton Keynes but spends his spare time volunteering for the Scouts.

Brand new retirement homes in TotnesI volunteer with the Scouts, helping in my local area. I’m also a Europe coordinator for the International Support Team.

Scouting has given me the opportunity to form great friendships – at home and abroad. It’s also developed my leadership skills by making me responsible for others, planning, first aid, budgeting and so on.

After training, scout leaders can join the Institute of Leadership and Management, – which helps with employment opportunities. Volunteering challenges you and helps you develop skills. You also get to meet a lot of people.

Scouting provides great adventures for young people and we’re in need of adult volunteers. Lots of young people are on waiting lists because we need more volunteers to run beaver, cub, scout and explorer sections.
