The Regeneration of South Bank will provide excellent employment opportunities, generating 35,000 new jobs. Skills training and apprenticeships will also be will available to students at Leeds College of Building, Leeds City College, Ruth Gorse Academy and the University Technical College. Extensive public realm improvements and green spaces will add to the sustainability of the area. Close to Leeds Integrated station for HS2 and mainline rail links, South Bank will double the size and economic impact of the city centre.

Led by Leeds City Council, South Bank Regeneration will provide over 8,000 new homes. The 928 new homes at Hunslet Road, a minimum 35% of which will be affordable housing, will be constructed on two adjacent sites that now have planning consent and are already in Guinness’s ownership. The project will also include commercial and retail space for compatible uses such as cafes and gyms, enabling Guinness to play its part in the delivery of a vibrant new neighbourhood.

The development reinforces Guinness’ commitment to prioritising the regeneration of large brownfield sites first and, in the case of Hunslet Road, adding to the reputation of the South Bank area of Leeds as a place for people and families to live, work and visit.
