Outright Sale, Shared Ownership and Affordable Rent

One Manor Road is an award-winning scheme comprised of 10 homes for affordable rent (8 new build flats and 2 new build houses – with a flat fully wheelchair accessible), 8 shared ownership flats and 8 homes for outright sale. In 2017, the scheme won the First Time Buyer Magazine Readers’ Award for Most Innovative Redevelopment of an Existing Property.

Blending traditional and historic with contemporary and new buildings that stand side by side, Guinness Homes addressed the need for affordability, while respecting the historic surroundings. The high boundary walls, which date back to as far as 1832, provide a sense of enclosure and the courtyard arrangement creates a safe and secure environment and offer new views of the distinctive Edwardian buildings.

A modern aesthetic was been introduced with high quality new buildings in materials sympathetic to the original buildings and achieved CfSH Level 4 (sustainable) construction. We introduced ecological enhancements to this scheme via building ponds, green walls and erecting bat and bird boxes.

Community Investment

Our S106 contributions brought added community improvements to the local area including an improved sports facility directly opposite One Manor Road as well as the design and fabrication of the new front gates, which were led by a local artist and a resident panel.
