Guinness Property has joined with other organisations to offer all women the opportunity to enrol in a FREE 5 week training programme, starting on Thursday 21st June in Oldham, Manchester.

Through this programme women will gain the fundamental skills they need to start a career in construction. Students that complete the course will be awarded a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card, the leading skills certification within the UK.

The course includes workshops, learning sessions and practical assessments taught by experienced professionals, enabling students to develop their skills while also meeting others that can help them use their new-found qualification.

The course will include:

  • Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment.
  • Site visits across the North West of England (transport will be provided).
  • Practical skills including plastering, joinery, plumbing and tiling.
  • Employability training.

Course locations include Oldham Broadway Business Park and The Guinness Partnership office, Bower House.

“Women working in construction are still very much in the minority – and even today only a small number of women consider a career in this vital industry.” – Phil Royales, Head of Quality and Performance for Guinness Property
