£10 challenge raises almost
£10,000 for charity

19 December 2016

Back in January, our finance team set themselves a challenge. Seven groups in the team were given £10 each, with the aim of raising as much money as possible for their chosen charities.

An impressive profitPresenting a cheque to North West and North Wales Transport Service.

All year they’ve been raising money creatively, with fundraising efforts from raffles to fashion shows; tombolas to sponsored swims. All their hard work paid off and the team have raised an amazing £9,190 for charity. Not bad considering they started with just £70!

The money raised will be going to Cash for Kids; North West and North Wales Transport Service; Springhill Hospice; Ward 84 at Royal Manchester’s Children’s Hospital; Shelter; Bleakholt Animal Rescue and Trussell Trust.

Raising vital funds

The total amount raised was revealed to the team last week, with a representative from each charity there to collect their cheques.

Representative from Trussell Trust, Lynda Battabee said, “We are so grateful to Guinness for the huge amount of effort, time and generosity devoted to raising vital funds for charity. This time of year is particularly difficult for so many people, so this cheque has come at a perfect time.”

A big well done to the team for raising such a fantastic amount of money for so many wonderful causes.

Let’s do it all again in 2017

The team has already set themselves next year’s challenge – to exceed what they raised this year – but starting with no money at all.

Good luck everyone!
