‘spring’ into action

Residents in Balby, Doncaster were invited to join in with ‘Spring Into Action Day’ last Friday.

Run in partnership with St. Leger Homes and Doncaster Council, the event encouraged local residents to get their community ready for spring.
Activities on the day included:
- an organised litter pick of the estate
- stalls where residents could make up plant pots or hanging baskets to take home
- several large skips were available for local residents to dispose of any garden waste.
Beverly Kelly, Community Investment Manager, said
“It was a perfect opportunity to work in partnership with St Leger Homes, Doncaster Council and the local community to improve the appearance of the estate. It was a brilliant, sunny day and was an ideal opportunity for residents to actively get involved and make a difference to their estate, it was a great success.”
The event was held in the area between Armitage Road, Anelay Road, Smith Street and Gilberthorpe Road in Balby, and was open to all the residents of these streets.
