Violent Crime Prevention Board
02 May 2019
Guinness is proud to now be supporting the Violent Crime Prevention Board, a grass roots organisation that believe London and the UK should be an aspirational place.
Brian Hamlin, Community Partnership Manager at Guinness is joining the VCPB as a champion, working to help the #ViolentCrimePrevention movement reach more young people across the country and work to make the United Kingdom a safer place.
The VCPB aims to build and promote character, leadership and resilience in local communities. It’s all about connecting local leaders, faith groups, the Metropolitan Police and key service providers.
I’m really excited to be part of the VCPB. Guinness helps its customers to achieve their potential and the work of the VCPB really supports that, helping young people to build their futures and help make our communities a great place to live.

We have to find solutions that tackle violent crime.
The heart of the group’s activity is best described using the African proverb “Omwana ni wa bhone,” – meaning regardless of a child’s biological parent(s) its upbringing belongs to the community. This is a movement that needs us all to take responsibility, each one of us will intervene and engage in this vision to champion and progress our society.
For me, it’s really important that we help to present a balanced view of our communities and help our young people to be heard. And that’s what we aim to do.
