Guinness Supported Living receives
outstanding CQC rating

18 December 2019

Following a recent inspection, Guinness Care’s Supported Living service has been rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

supported livingSupported Living supports adults with learning disabilities to live independently with their own tenancies in a number of shared houses.

Outstanding is the highest CQC rating available for regulated services and means that the inspection identified that the service is performing exceptionally well across all five Key Lines of Enquiry (Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led).

Although some of our services have received Outstanding in one or some of the five Key Lines of Enquiry, our Supported Living Service is the first one to receive this as an Overall rating.

The team manage 11 services across Devon, as well as Bramley Barn, our community-based Day Service at Bicton College, Exmouth.

Paul Watson, Managing Director of Guinness Care said:

Congratulations to the entire Supported Living team and the support of the QA team for achieving this excellent result. This is testament to our belief in providing the best possible care and support.

Lynn Lewis, Director of Independent Living said: “The Supported Living team has worked hard to deliver services that are now rated as Outstanding by the CQC. The Inspector spent three days with the team and commended our tailored approach to make sure our customers are able to live their lives the way they choose.

“This approach, combined with the day services we run at Bramley Barn and our new Community Connector role, means that our customers can look forward to volunteering and employment opportunities in the local community. I’m so proud of the work they do and the difference they make to our customers’ lives.”
