Modular homes delivered in Drybrook, Forest of Dean

19 May 2021

We recently took delivery of the first pre-built modular homes at our Mannings Farm development in Drybrook, Forest of Dean.

We are committed to providing as many high-quality homes as possible and to playing a significant part in tackling the country’s housing crisis.  Using pre-fabricated modular units means we can deliver much needed, high-quality affordable housing sooner.

In total 57 modular homes have been manufactured by ilke Homes, at the company’s 250,000 sq ft factory in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire.  The development will provide a mixture of family accommodation from one bedroom apartments up to four bedroom houses and will be a mixture of shared ownership and affordable rent.

Mannings Farm is our first modular housing scheme, paving the way for similar schemes to be delivered in the future. The development is supported by Strategic Partnership funding from Homes England and also a contribution of £45,000 from the Local Authority, the Forest of Dean District Council.

Narvinder Khossa, Group Partnerships Director at ilke Homes, says: “It’s great to see the first of our homes arrive on site for Guinness. The homes being delivered at Drybrook will already exceed soon-to-be-introduced building regulations. We look forward to working closely with Guinness to deliver our first scheme together and look forward to working with the housing association in the future to help speed up the delivery of affordable housing across the UK.”

Keith Chaplin, Housing Strategy & Enabling Officer from Forest of Dean Council said: “The Forest of Dean District Council are pleased to be working with The Guinness Partnership and Ilke Homes to deliver the first modular homes in the Forest of Dean. This new scheme shows that by doing things a little differently we can deliver much-needed affordable, sustainable, new homes in the Forest of Dean.”
