Claudine, a year 6 pupil and Guinness resident, joined Tutor United’s online tuition classes in November last year. The 15-week programme, consisting of one-hour classes every week, has allowed Claudine to catch up on subjects like Maths and English.
One of our key social values is investing in our customers and their communities through educational and employment support. Over the past year, we’ve been working closely with Tutors United to provide online learning support to many of our residents aged between 8 – 11 years old. This partnership has resulted in the largest online programme Tutors United have run with a housing association, which has helped over 170 young Guinness residents during the pandemic, including Claudine.
Claudine still has several weeks left on the programme and is looking forward to working on her final assessments soon. With a maximum of 6 pupils per class, each child gets as much individual support as possible, as well as an opportunity to meet other kids – an aspect that Claudine really enjoyed, “It’s been so much fun and I’ve loved talking to the other kids, especially during lockdown where I haven’t been able to see my own friends”.
Anna, Claudine’s mum, is a huge fan and full of praise for the educational programme, stating:
“It’s a well organised course that is perfectly planned for my daughter’s learning. It’s brilliantly run and has given my daughter a lot of confidence socially”.
In a time when school learning had been so disrupted, both Claudine and her mum were thankful for the opportunity to be involved, “It’s been absolutely priceless, for the both of us!”
We look forward to hearing from Claudine after her final assessments – have fun!
If you feel like your child could benefit from some extra tuition in Maths and English, Tutors United are running online webinar tutorials every four weeks called the ‘Booster Series’. Places on this course are still available up until June 2021, you can find out more and sign up here.
