Robinwood Lodge host
joint anniversary celebration
15 October 2015
Robinwood Lodge, which was opened in 1990 by HRH Princess Diana, celebrated 25 years of providing sheltered housing for the people of Glossop.
“When we realised it was Guinness’s 125th anniversary too, we decided to put the two celebrations together,” said Kirsty Yates, the housing manager at Robinwood Lodge.
She added, “We had bunting and balloons everywhere and we put a timeline of Guinness along the corridor. We even had a local lady provide background singing throughout the day.
“We wanted to celebrate all the services that help our residents to remain independent. And we invited all the local teams we work with to enjoy the party too.”
Our guest of honour
Beryl Aldridge was Robinwood Lodge’s first resident, moving in 25 years ago with her husband, Sid. Sadly Sid has passed away, but Beryl is still a resident and was our deserved guest of honour.
The local mayor, Stewart Young, came along to join in the fun and presented Beryl with flowers and a crown, which she wore with pride all day.
