Our vision for an ageing population

At Guinness we’re committed to improving people’s lives by providing as many high-quality affordable homes as possible, and great care services to help customers live more independently.
We recently set out a new strategy to modernise our service for older people’s housing, which will do more to help them live happily, safely and independently for as long as possible.
As part of our Vision for Older People Strategy, we have committed to spending the next few years working closely with our customers to gauge interest in a new package of services that we believe will have a big impact in delivering environmental, dementia-friendly, independent living and technology improvements to the lives of everyone we work with.
Over the past 10 years we’ve seen a shift in requirements from our customers, particularly with an increased demand for more digital inclusion and modern homes that they are proud to live in.
We’ve already begun to deliver services that reflect this change, working with Appello’s Smart Living Solutions (SLS) digital telecare solution to 30 of our developments across England. SLS will help our customers as they now have access to flat-to-flat and flat-to-manager video calls and video door entry.
Digital telecare will allow us to deliver on our commitment to our residents to modernise their environment. One system alone gives us the ability to be responsive, preventative and promote digital inclusion, but it also allows our residents to benefit from the many safety and wellbeing advantages of digital solutions.
