Young resident shines on special project

Paul, from Milton Keynes, joined many other children from Guinness homes across the country, who were teamed up and tasked with designing a theme park, centred around learning.

The challenge was set by fictional CEO, Mr Spark, who assigned each team with a Tutors United guide, to help them throughout the challenge.  Over 4 hours, they:

  • Completed market research
  • Creatively designed their theme park
  • Put together a marketing strategy
  • Pitched their theme park idea to the judges

After a successful pitch, Paul’s team were announced as the winners for the fictional prize investment.

The judges loved their theme park idea: ‘The Milton Keynes World of Dinosaurs – A Place Where Dinosaurs Come To Life’ and said:

Paul was a very enthusiastic and engaging team member. He created a bright, detailed and exciting theme park map that really brought the World of Dinosaurs to life. Paul contributed a lot of good ideas to the team’s presentation and brought it to a close with a fantastic poem that acted as a great advertisement for their park. The World of Dinosaurs’s team delivered a well-rehearsed presentation and gave us a very descriptive explanation of how their park would run.

Afterwards, we spoke to Paul’s mum, Lalitha, about her thoughts on the programme and Paul’s Tutors United experience. She said, “I thought this programme would be something Paul would enjoy and benefit from, to improve his creative skills and confidence. He enjoyed the whole experience – even more so winning the competition! I would definitely recommend this programme, as it is put together really well and keeps the children very entertained”.
