Guinness funded me through my HNC in Construction and has really helped me to develop my career. ”

I joined Guinness as a customer services officer straight from university – 12 years ago now! My career has developed so much since then, and I’ve progressed to become a manager, moving from customer service to maintenance and then into development. Guinness really supported my transition offering me the right training to develop along the way.
What’s kept me here all these years? I genuinely enjoy my job and I absolutely love being able to make a difference to people’s lives. As an organisation, we spend a third of our rental income on repairing properties. It’s things like that which make you feel such a great sense of purpose. Seeing a completed property handed over to residents is the best thing. No two days are ever the same, but every one of them is rewarding.
We are well paid for our roles and the benefits are great. Guinness supported me through my maternity leave and I initially came back doing part-time hours. I’m now back to full-time and loving it! It’s a great working environment – everyone is friendly and helpful and we all get along well.
