Purpose and lawful basis
We want Guinness homes to be a great place to live which is why we offer grants to help you realise your potential, be that starting a small business, building up your skills or develop and nurture your talent into a career. In order to receive a grant you have to apply for an ‘Aspire’ award.
When you apply for an aspire award you will need to agree to our Terms and Conditions. When you do so and submit your application we will be processing your personal data under Article 6 (1) (b) of the UK General Data Protection Regulations. That is processing is necessary for the performance of a contract or taking steps at your request to enter into a contract.
We don’t knowingly ask you for any sensitive personal data, for example, about your health, ethnicity or religion. However if you feel that there are details that would support your application and willingly volunteer this information on your application form we will be processing this in accordance with Article 9 (2) (a) where you have given your explicit consent. You can ask us to stop processing this data at any point.
If successful we would love to be able to share your success across our publicly available channels. We will only do this with your consent by ticking the checkbox in section 3 of the application.
Furthermore we would also like to keep you updated with any training courses, education or employment opportunities that may be relevant to your application. We will only do this with your consent by ticking the checkbox in section 3.
The checkboxes in section 3 have no bearing on the assessment of your application.
On occasion we would like to run campaigns (e.g. specific anniversaries) utilising your experiences and how this has impacted your life. If chosen, we would like to make contact with you to see if you would like to take part. This contact will be made, in our legitimate interest, using the latest contact details we have. Any story would only be used with your consent.
What we need?
In order to adequately and fairly assess your applications, we will need details from you about you, your tenancy and why you require a grant to fulfil your potential.
In order to fulfil our terms and conditions we will need to carry out checks using information we have to ascertain for example any significant Anti-Social Behaviour or arrears on the account which may lead to your application being rejected.
Why we need to use it?
Each application is assessed on it’s own merit by an independent panel. The details we collect will all be used to be assessed against specific criteria to award the grants.
If you are successful it will be of great benefit to be able to share in your success and hopefully your stories will inspire and energise others to pursue their dreams.
Successful or Unsuccessful there may be other opportunities we can provide to give you a leg up in the right direction.
We like to re-visit our awards and therefore on occasion will run campaigns to show how these grants have affected your future.
How long do we keep it?
Information provided through your application, assessment and award will be retained for 6 years.
Basic information such as you name, contact details, circumstances and grant award will be retained beyond that period to contact you if necessary to promote your stories as part of a campaign.
